It’s been awhile since I’ve had any home projects to work on. This weekend I decided I needed to fix that & decided to head over to Jason’s favorite store, Harbor Freight to pick up this guy:
Steel Service Cart, $37.99
The best thing about Harbor Freight is that they always have 25% off coupons, which brought the price down to $25. Not too shabby.
Now, why exactly am I excited about purchasing a rolling cart? I’m making a bar cart out of it! Inspired by Primer Magazine:
This looks pretty cool, doesn’t it? I have been wanting some kind of bar area for quite some time now — ours will be a coffee and wine bar most likely — but everything I’ve seen ends up costing a ridiculous amount for a piece of furniture that is purely a want and not a need, especially this close to Christmas.
So yesterday I purchased the cart, some primer, and some rolled cork board, the I got home & spread all the pieces out on the basement floor, primed everything & called it a day. Today I ran out to Home Depot to get the same dark grey spray paint we used on our buffet to make sure that our dining room has some continuitity.
Hopefully I’ll be able to do all the spray painting today & tomorrow I can put it together and share the final product!
