Jason, his brother and I went on a suit buying outing today. Not knowing a thing about suits, I figured it’d be a good idea to do a preliminary suit searching so we can figure out what color of gray suit Jason will be wearing (which then determines what color of gray the groomsmen will be wearing) and where we should make this suit purchase.
2013 was the quickest year of my life. I swear, I blinked and it was over already. Suddenly it’s 2014 and we are 150 days away from the wedding. How did that happen? Continue reading
Today marked a pretty big milestone for me both wedding and weight-wise. I officially crossed over the 30 pound weight loss mark (30.4 to be exact!) and hit my wedding dress ordering weight loss goal! I’m going to hold off on ordering until the weekend following this upcoming weekend because a) as I’m ordering my dress online & I need to find a local tailor to take my measurements & recommend a size for me, something I’ll go into more detail about in a moment (ordering from weddingshoppeinc.com which has a real shop somewhere in Minnesota – I’m ordering an actual Mori Lee dress, not a Chinese replica) and b) I want to make sure I’ve solidly lost these 30 pounds… my weight has a tendency to creep up the day after I hit a milestone, so I don’t want to prematurely celebrate hitting my 30 pound goal. I’m home sick for the second day in a row thanks to a nasty stomach bug. I’ll admit, as miserable as I’ve been feeling all week and as unhealthy as this next statement is going to sound, it could not have come at a better time. After last weekend’s high school reunion & the cheat week that came before it, I had gained back 4 of the 27 pounds I have lost to date. I knew I was going to gain back some weight in the name of having a good time, but I was hoping for something more like 2 pounds. Oh well, lesson learned that I cannot have multiple cheat days in a row. If I want a cheat it needs to be a cheat meal or a cheat day at the most. I think that’s fair. For the most part, any “outings” I go on only involve one or two meals anyway. This weekend was a fluke with having events all weekend long. Continue reading
30 days of Paleo eating & I am down 17 pounds in a single month. 27 pounds overall. I am so pleased with these results. If you’re at all overweight & you’ve struggled with diets in the past, give Paleo eating a try. I promise you will not regret it! 30 days & I was never hungry… Towards the end I cheated after several cupcake dreams, but I still lost 17 pounds. My plan for now is to eat Paleo 80% of the time, cheat 20% for the next week, then do another 100% a Paleo round after my 10 year height school reunion this weekend, in hopes of getting closer to my ultimate goal. With 27 down, I still want to lose 53 more pounds. It may no all be achievable prior to the wedding, but I am going to try my hardest to get as close to my goal weight as I can. 27 down is a awesome start and I know I can do even better in the next 8 months!
PS. Jason & I have been engaged for one year today! 365 days down, 251 to go until we’re in ally married!
